Pending Occupants
A Pending Occupant is anyone who applies to rent an apartment and has not yet been accepted as a tenant. Here you can add, edit, delete or move in a Pending Occupant.
NOTE: Rent Magic allows for only one person per unit to be stored as a Pending Occupant; you can add the rest of the occupants once you convert the pending occupant into a current occupant (i.e. you move them in).

Opening the Pending Occupants screen
- From the Tenant Menu, select Pending Occupants.

This screen will pop up:

The default of this screen is to display all pending occupants across you entire portfolio.
Adding a new Pending Occupant
NOTE: You do not need to know which unit you are moving this pending tenant into at this time. You will be able to select the building/unit at the time of move-in. Choosing a building and unit is helpful if you have many applications coming in at once and you need the extra filtering ability (see below). Even if you selected a building/unit at this time, you can always override this entry at the time of move-in.
- Press the Add button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Enter the Pending Occupant (applicant) data in the Tenant Information screen that comes up. (Remember: You must select the building from its drop-down box before you can select the unit.)
- Click OK to save the information.
Filtering the Pending Occupants list (optional)
If you wish, you may filter the list of Pending Occupants to show only those for a given building, or even a given unit, by selecting from the drop-down boxes.
- Select a building from the Building drop-down box, or leave as 'All Buildings'.
- Select a unit from the Unit drop-down box, or leave as blank.

There are no Pending Occupants for Ellesmere, so the screen is blank.
Editing an existing Pending Occupant
- Double click (or right-click and select Edit) on the occupant you would like to edit.
Deleting an existing Pending Occupant
Note: Deleting a Pending Occupant is permanent — this action cannot be undone!- Right click the occupant you would like to delete, and select Delete
- Press Yes to confirm deletion.
Moving In a Pending Occupant
This is when the pending occupant has been accepted as a tenant. The Pending Occupant will then become either either a current tenant or a Future Tenant, depending on whether the tenant's physical move-in takes place immediately or at a future date.
- Select the occupant you would like to move in.
- Press Perform Move In, in the bottom right corner of the screen. This will open the Move in a tenant Screen.
- Complete all the steps in Move in a tenant — note that the Pending Occupant's information is already present.
- If there were multiple Pending Occupants for this unit, a window will appear asking if you want to delete the remaining Pending Occupants.
Notes
- You may move the Pending Occupant into any unit, not just the one you originally selected.
- You must close and re-open the Pending Occupants screen to refresh it.
